The Rio Grande Educational Collaborative is a small non-profit organization formed in 2000.

Our VISION:  We are dedicated to preparing children, family and community for life-long success.  Our MISSION is to leverage resources and opportunities to create a continuum of services to support the social and academic dreams of children, their families and their communities.

Our Vision & Mission come alive by following four primary strategies:

.1)  Provide pathways for student success through the development, application and management of services.

.2)  Provide professional development services for businesses, community members and educators.

           3)  Identify, organize and utilize community-based, state, and national resources.

.4)  Provide team focused, goal oriented, united, high performance work environment within RGEC and its extended organization.

We typically direct our services to Title I schools and students.  

Although quite small (we have only six employees), we extend our reach by hiring hundreds of people as contractors to provide programming to students of all ages before and after school and during the summer.  By hiring people from all walks of life -- artisans, teachers, college students, business and community members, school-based staff -- we are able to offer a rich and varied assortment of programming to children. 

We truly enjoy what we do.  It is challenging and fun and it makes a difference.
