The Rio Grande Educational Collaborative (RGEC) has been a constant visible presence in the field of tutoring here in New Mexico for nearly a decade. Over this time, RGEC has become a recognized leader in providing tutoring and supplemental education services to students of all ages and skill levels. At RGEC, our well qualified and caring tutors tailor individualized learning plans that build the skills, habits and attitudes students need to succeed in school and in life.

RGEC is an approved supplemental educational services (SES) provider in New Mexico and has had the privilege of providing FREE, high quality tutoring to thousands of eligible children for nearly a decade. Under the federal government’s No Child Left Behind Act, RGEC is able to deliver FREE one-on-one or small group tutoring lessons at locations such as libraries, community centers, churches, schools, or other convenient sites. To find out how your child can receive FREE tutoring, contact your school today and tell them you want the Rio Grande Educational Collaborative (RGEC)!

If your child qualifies for free or reduced lunch, and attends an under-performing school, he or she may be eligible for FREE tutoring! Contact your school today to find out what thousands of parents already know and see for yourself why RGEC is the right choice for your child.

RGEC provides tutoring instruction in math, reading, writing, study skills, homework help and more. What Kids Say:

"I love going to RGEC because it's fun and art is my favorite thing to do." -Ethan J, 2nd grade, Sierra Vista E.S.

"My RGEC teacher helps me with homework and then we can have fun and we do funny projects sometimes. I think I learn a lot when I'm here and it makes me like school, a whole lot more." -Thomas, 3rd Grade.

"One thing I like about RGEC is that we get to play and also finish our homework. I didn't get to do arts and crafts at my after-school program last year, but here at RGEC we make lots of cool things to take home." -Alicia, 5th Grade

What parents say:

I wanted to let you know that my son is loving the program.  I love it too.  I think the schedule and diverse activities are awesome.  I pick up a very happy boy every night and often in the morning he pesters me to get to go to RGEC.  Thank you for everything that you are doing to make his experience so positive.

Thank you, D.Hanes

“In the past, our kids claimed after school programs were boring and there was nothing to do.  I work full time and had to leave them in a program.  I was excited when the flyer came home explaining your program.  I have to admit I was a little concerned they would put up a fight to go daily but after the first day they were hooked and so was I.  They had their favorites, Adriana, my second grader, cooking and Anthony, my fifth grader, working in the garden.  They have learned so much from your program.  They have grown and matured and coming home after work has been enjoyable because they come home happy.  The learning was made so much fun; they didn’t even realize all they were learning.  I can’t say enough what this program has meant to us.”  -ML Altamirano
