The Rio Grande Educational Collaborative (RGEC) is held to a high standard of academic enrichment and safety required by a number of organizations including NM Public Education Department and NM Early Childhood Education & Care Department. These outside professional organizations require a compliance approach which assures a level of academic and safety standards and processes exist and are incorporated into RGEC’s programs. We are grateful for these alliances because they provide oversight to our program, which we believe results in a higher standard of operation and service delivery to our customers. However, RGEC believes the quality of our program is critically important to our brand and our business value to families and children. We further believe since we are responsible for the academic progress as well as safety of children, quality is an accountability measure for ensuring this in fact occurs. RGEC takes program quality extremely seriously. Consequently, RGEC complements compliance and regulation provided by outside sources with its own internal system of Quality Assurance which ensures that all RGEC school sites and their staff are operating and performing at the highest levels and standards. This internal Quality Assurance approach is unmatched by any peer organization. RGEC undertakes in all afterschool programs, multiple levels of quality review and accountability measures thus influencing the caretaking and educational service provided to your child. No other afterschool service can make such a claim and no other organizations takes program quality efforts as far as RGEC.
RGEC’s quality assurance works directly in the school programs at sites, checking for updated certificates and licenses, quality of academic enrichment, lesson plan delivery, site cleanliness, customer service and consistency of best practices amongst all of our staff. These are just a few of the areas we review. Quality Assurance reviews are conducted throughout the school year to maintain a consistent level of excellence in all of our programs across Albuquerque, Los Lunas, Belen, and all other regions we operate in the state of New Mexico.
Along with frequent site visits, Quality Assurance works with all levels of RGEC employees to help provide training and mentorship to ensure that our staff whether working at the RGEC office or in one of our many school sites, are professionally developed thus knowledgeable and able to maintain the high standard RGEC programs demand.
Staff at all of our sites are required to go through a specific number of hours of training as mandated by the state and internally by our own company. These trainings include:
- Classroom Management
- Behavior Management
- Customer Service
- Program Innovation
- Blood borne Pathogens
- Food & Nutrition
To name a few…
